Champions Trophy 2025: The Afghanistan cricket team has taken a big decision regarding preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. Champions Trophy 2025 Conditioning camp will start in Karachi
Yunus Khan will join the team in the conditioning camp starting in Karachi from February 19. This camp will be a part of the preparations for the Champions Trophy. Younus will remain with the team during the tournament and will help the players with his strategy. Afghanistan’s first match will be played against South Africa on February 21.
Tradition of making a player from the host country a mentor
This is not the first time that Afghanistan has chosen a player from the host country as the team’s mentor. Ajay Jadeja was associated with the team as a mentor in the ODI World Cup 2023 and Dwayne Bravo in the T20 World Cup 2024. Afghanistan performed brilliantly in both these tournaments. In the ODI World Cup 2023, the team defeated big teams like England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while in the T20 World Cup 2024, it made it to the semi-finals for the first time.
